Hands

Self-taught, in Lagos. Freelancing from 2013, then Andela’s bootcamp in 2016. A new language most weeks, learned by building it.

My first repo was a command-line banking system. After that: a JWT library, logic gates built up from NAND, a 2D physics engine.

If you want to understand it, build it.

Tech lead at Andela: 6 engineers, 30+ mentees. 9 core production services at InVision.

First engineer at Unbird (Techstars Boulder 2019), where I built CI/CD for a team still deploying by hand. Then Co-founder & CTO of PingPong (YC W21), async video for remote teams.

Sheet 04 · The Machine · 2020–26

The Machine

I followed one problem all the way down: from a startup’s async video tool to a recorder where nothing ever leaves your computer. PingPong, then Electron, then Grain Recorder (2026, my own project), then Swift, then Captur in Rust across 9 meeting platforms. Now Nzuko. Self-hosted, and it transcribes on device.

Sheet 05 · Repairs · 2022–26

Repairs

At Grain, a rewrite had stalled for months. Shipped as a progressive migration, it landed in about a month. Repair beats replace.

At Getro I built the admin portal, the job boards and the design system. I compared graph databases against plain Postgres; Postgres won, with the reason written down.

Findem acquired Getro in 2025. As Staff Engineer I built the relationship graph: 3.5M+ contacts, depth-3 path search from 489ms to 9ms.

The Crew

Agents do the building now. 3 lanes in isolated worktrees, merged by script. One fresh agent per ticket, never a long-lived one.

The Guard

Dozens of money bugs passed review while looking correct. So I built the Guard, a check with no model in it.

Every guard has to be seen failing once before it’s trusted.

A guard that cannot fail is worse than no guard.
